Except that when rep checked, the amount that I paid was about 10x the minimum. I suspect there is a problem in the software, so that when I paid the exact amount it was viewed as completed and the new charges reset the clock for the month again.

Actually I didn't have a method. I usually don't use cc except if a person is going to handle the card or for larger purchases. Then I just pay it off. I try to pay ccs off right away as I have noticed interest charges if I wait for the bill.

This month my debit visa went missing, so I charged a few things I hadn't planned on charging as I don't carry much cash.
