GWPotter: You may have missed a very important point - Bonds will always pay what you expected when you purchased IF you hold them to maturity.

Maybe you missed an important part of my position. Yes, Bonds will always (Assuming the company stays solvent) pay the interest and redeem the bonds, if the company has the money. Does not apply to a bond FUND! The bond fund buys and sells bonds, just as a stock fund buys and sells stocks. Can go higher, can go lower, no?
