Very intersting investing opprotunities. I think, most of the american investors face the same problem, german investors face by investing in the u.s..

You can not buy all the stocks or funds you like:
- because they are not trading as an ADR in the U.S.
- costs are higher investing abroad
- the information is not up to u.s. standards
and so on

I myself think, with a service like the motley fool in gernamy, investing in german would be a lot easier. Actually there has been a german fool (but thats a long time ago).
