Need some help here please. My mom is 81 years of age. She is not comfortable with stocks and prefers that her money simply sit in CDs. No arguing with her about this. HOWEVER, her banker has been touting Hartford Life's Variable Annuity known as The Director. I can't read and/or understand the Prospectus. He tells her she is guaranteed 15% for the first six months, her profits are tax deferred and all this suddently sounds very appealing to her. I just know this is not for her but don't know or understand the reasons to dissuade her. Can someone out there offer some compelling reasons for her to simply go back to her CD?
