HarvinX,

Your post seems to suggest that you're unaware that HRB is open year round. Also, there's no need to have your return prepared by someone "who just graduated from a 3 week crash course." Block's Basic course (graduates from which, Block offers jobs as new preparers) is 11
weeks, just to set the record straight. I also should say that I've been a Block preparer for eight years. I'm also a stockholder. I have an accounting degree from a well known Eastern university. Block's tax course is better than anything I took in school, and graduates of the course are quite knowledgable.
Having said that, some preparers are definitely better than others. My suggestion is to ask for an experienced preparer when you walk in the door. Don't just sit down and wait for the next available preparer, if this is a concern.
Also Block offers a "Peace of Mind" guarantee where they'll pay penalty, interest, and up to $4,000 of additional tax if there is an inadvertant error on Block's part.

All in all I don't think you can beat the value.
