Hasbro recently (within the last 6 months) released an expansion of A&A called Iron Blitz (IB). It is about 95% the same, but with a few superior features. While the bugs in A&A are frustrating and require one to use tactics contrary to the rules, it is for the most part playable. But because of 2 major bugs or design flaws, IB is truly unplayable online. Witness last night (Sunday, at 8:30 PM EDT). At the A&A site at MSN gaming zone, there were 192 people in the 3 A&A game rooms, 10 in the IB room. Hasbro may have no financial interest in patching the old game (other than preserving their reputation), but I fail to realize why they released a new product and then abandoned it. Consider also Hasbro's recent purchase of Avalon Hill, and their new endeavor with Games.com. Do they expect that people will just write off the A&A situation as an anomoly? Our goal here on these message boards is to inform the consumer and investor about Hasbro's lack of customer support in this one area, and hopefully someone at HI will get the message that any new releases in the Strategy/War Game genre will be looked at with a skeptical eye by their prospective consumer base.
