Hasn't happened to me (yet), but if it does I'd sure rather find out by visiting the web site than by having a waitress tell me my card's not valid.I'd be curious how Citibank handles the interim between cancelling your old card and your receiving your new one, when you don't know your old card's no good. Greetings, YewGuise, I called Citibank at the customer service number on the back of my card. They confirmed that the website freeze was legitimate (it was really them that did it) and also gave me a date by which the old card would be formally closed if I took no action to close it sooner (which I did once the new card arrived). But the old card kept right on working without pause until I activated the new card. Oh, and Citibank preserved my lengthy credit history without my having to ask for it. So I never went uncovered, despite having the website frozen for payments or for viewing account details, until I activated the new card.xraymd
