... how much I really dislike raking leaves?
Mowing leaves may still be in the works - the pecan trees still have to drop - but in front, the maple and dogwood trees are about 90% down. Raking started today.
Howie52 oh well - at least it will be another year before the magnolia pods get raked again.

I don't rake leaves, I run them over with a mulching mower.
If you rake your leaves to the curb, the city does come by to pick them up. I even have a leaf blower, but have yet to use it. I might cut my grass for the last time (Nov 11) for the last time.
P.S. I have birds on steroids in my hood.

The one thing more annoying than raking leaves to me is the noise of a leaf blower. But I mow the leaves as well at times - depends on the quantity of leaves.
The family used to rake leaves into the driveway or the road-way ditch and burn the leaves once upon a time a long time ago.
Howie52 We have a dearth of birds around here right now. A few cow-birds but not many others. I have not seen many at all - odd this time of year down here.
