Having not had the opportunity for myself, my gratuitous advice is that saying your goodbyes is the singular priority you face until he leaves. ... regardless of how embarrassing he thinks it is, he knows what you mean to him.I'm sorry you went through what you did at such a young age and I intend to implement your advice. Actions have always meant more to Dad than words, though I also use plenty of "I love you" as well. He has told me how much he appreciates all our visits, understanding that the undertaking is not frivolous given the trek and ignored responsibilities at home.I was raised very Catholic, and though I've had serious issues with the man made rules of the church, I do have strong faith that Dad will be at peace when he dies. That helps.As does everyone's support.InParadise
