One more thought on LBYMing while visiting NYC in the summer:

On 42nd street, right behind the main (beautiful!) public library (blocks from Grand Central station lays Bryant Park.

Ever monday night HBO hosts a FREE movie after the sun sets. People set up picnic blankets on the grass and enjoy the night. I went last night and saw "Band Wagon", a musical starring Fred Estaire. Other movies this season are "The Birds", M*A*S*H", "Rocky", The Manchurian Candidate", etc.

TIP: Somebody NEEDS to be there 5-5:30pm with a blanket to claim a spot. It gets tough after that. So bring your book, a nice bottle of water some food (and wine for the movie!) and have a nice summer evening.
