He is convinced that there is a special new tax this year on the $4.00 in dividends he gets from John Deere. I can't find anything on the Internet about this and he is well under $250K in income. Is there a change to taxes on dividends?

No, but there is a new tax rate on dividends if your income is above, I think, $400,000. If he remains worried about it tell him that since he has so much money he should buy you a Bentley.
