Hello all! I've been lurking for about a month now, and am finally moving on to posting. (By the way, this is a great message board. I've really enjoyed hearing about everyone's finds.)

My boyfriend and I recently moved in together. Neither one of us has much extra money to spend on furniture right now, because we are concentrating on paying off debt. Therefore, my solution has been to drive around the neighborhood the night before trash day, and see what I can find and fix up.

So far my favorite finds have been: 2 very cool vintage hat boxes, a large wooden bowl with abstract carvings, a set of six wooden chairs (two windsor, four captain's chairs), a wood framed footstool that I painted black and recovered with zebra-print fabric, a heavy wrought iron plant stand, and a workout bench and weights for my boyfriend.
