Hello: All Nascar collectables fell off about 50% from 1998 which was Nascar's 50th Anniversary.

I had a recent conversation with a contact at ERTL to try to sniff out the situation at RACN and more particularly ERTL since I am a distributor for ERTL as well as long in RACN stock. My contact said the ERTL "folks" were very excited about the RACN management team. ERTL's former owner Hanson PLC was just a holding company of a portfolio of companies. ERTL personnel are happy to have new owners who understand and care about models. ERTL as the leading manufacturer of diecast farm machines such as tractors and backhoes, as well as a leader in other diecast and plastic kit categories broadens RACN's product line beyond the Nascar niche. The marriage is a good one.

You might have noticed that RACN not only turned down the $10.00 a share offer a month ago but recently turned down $11.00 a share a couple of weeks ago (mid July, 1999).

IMHO the street over-reacted to the 2Q 99 news. I believe the stock will double in a year, and I do not see much more downside.
