I just stumbled onto this board and I am excited about joining in on what appears to be a very interesting topic.

I haven't had the time go back and start from the beginning - but can someone tell me if there have been any threads on the most Jimmy Buffet-Style Retirement places?

Yes, Key West is obvious - but there have to be other havens as well.

Thanks

Jen - looking forward to her next cheeseburger

Thanks for the great re-cap SShey!

By way of answer to the original question, I think there are all sorts of great places to live a JB-style existence, and it all depends on your interests. For example, I have several friends who are ski bums, and would consider themselves to be living a JB-style life. To me, I love skiing, but damn thats cold! My point is, if you love what you are doing and where you are, whether it is @ the top of Jackson Hole or on a beach in Antigua, if it is your ultimate destination for relaxation and life-living, you have done it correctly.

Its kind of interesting that this question was asked, because I was just talking to someone in Florida along these same lines. One of the resorts we stayed in on my recent mini-vacation had just been bought @ foreclosure for 8 mil. I ended up hanging out with the new owner while I was down there. He was a corporate lawyer turned venture capitalist from DC who had decided to just make a living buying and refurbishing resorts. As we talked about different area he had visited, his point was simple - there are plenty of great places around. You just have to find one you like and stick to it. I tend to agree.
