should i wait until i have at least $1000 to start investing in my roth IRA or can i start now? i only have $150 in as a start and will invest $50/mo for now. if i can start now, should i stick with a fund or buy stocks?

Why don't you examine the possibilities of initiating a Roth IRA with Sharebuilder:

I haven't fully examined all their requirements, but it looks like you can get started with a relatively small initial investment and can make whatever regular contibutions you determine fits your investment plan. Later, you can transfer your IRA to another fund company, like Vanguard, when it meets their minimums, if that is what you want to do.
