LOL... this dude picked the wrong county in which to "drive erratically." ... shot fired ! shot fired!

Laguna Beach Police identified the driver of the Mustang as Edward Ernest Uribe, 41, from Carson in LA County. He has been charged with five offenses – three of which are felonies – and is being held in OC Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. (see charges below.)

As first reported here earlier this morning, police have confirmed that one of the four LBPD officers who responded to the scene originally did fire a shot that hit Uribe’s car but did not injure anyone. LBPD will conduct an investigation into the shot fired.

Teargas was fired into the Mustang and Uribe managed to stand it for nearly 30 minutes before he exited his car via the passenger side door and sprawled onto the pavement where he was taken into custody.

Police said Uribe struck a total of four vehicles. The only injury reported was that of a 70-year-old man who lives in Three Arch Bay <a multi multi multi million dollar community>. An OC Sheriff’s SWAT team armored car transported the paramedics through the standoff and to the man’s home. Police did not say if he was hospitalized.

Sgt. Louise Callus also said this morning, “In another unusual twist, a Laguna Beach police officer had to transport medical personnel through the scene from Crown Valley Parkway to Mission Hospital, Laguna Beach with a human organ that was urgently needed by at the hospital.”

Charges against Uribe:

Felonies:

Felon/addict in possession of a firearm

Possession of a controlled substance

Bringing a controlled substance into a jail

Lesser Charges:

Prohibited person in possession of ammunition

Under the influence of a controlled substance

Resisting an officer
