Hey wolverine...Sorry to hear about your troubles....at a younger age, I was on unemployment a few times myself. Tougher now that you are older. However, it sounds like you DO have skills that could translate into employment for the next decade or two.I would suggest checking out the state's job training programs. They sometimes offer money while you are trained, from what I have heard. My sister in law was about to do one of their programs when she got offered her old job back a few years ago. Also, many many years ago, I was set up with an appointment with the Jewish Vocational Services in Southfield, I think it was, but cancelled when I got a job. You don't have to be Jewish for their help, and as I recall it was free. A few miles south for you, but it may well be worth the trip. http://www.jvsdet.org/site/PageServer?pagename=homeGood luck! There really ARE opportunities out there...and even if you are confused politically, your ability to write well speaks highly of you.
