Hi all,

I don't believe it is necessary to have an account with B&H in order to see a list of the securities that are available in their "limited universe." If you go to the front page of the site and click on "research stocks" on the left side it will lead you to a listing of available securities.

I have had some luck in getting B&H to add particular issues over the last few years. It is not instantanious, but given time several stocks that I have requested have been added to the "limited universe." I suspect that requests for additions must come from several different account holders and imagine that some reason for the request be included. ie "Company is the subject of recent article in Barrons, or on the top 100 list in IBD."

Remember, the name of the service is "Buy and Hold" not "Instant Trader."

I do agree with those who have had problems in understanding the statements and the regular screw ups in how they handle splits.

Overall, we must remember "you get what you pay for" and the modest costs (particularly for the all you can eat for $15.00) is a real value. B&H has allowed me to build a very diversified portfolio of securities over the last four years with very modest transaction costs.
