Hi, all, new to this board.

My spouse is 51, and starting to get lots of AARP stuff, wanting him to join. He's resistant, just at the thought, which is probably normal. But is he missing out? What do you have to say regarding benefits of joining AARP? Thanks!

I used to think we needed to join AARP to get the 10% discount at motels. Now that we've joined I realize that motels are more ecumenical these days and give the discount, if any, to anyone over 50.

As I have no experience with the various life insurance, health, or drug plans, the only way AARP has changed my life is that I get to read about all the movie stars that just turned 50 on the cover of their magazine.
