Hi Barb,

Is there anywhere where I could find this information?

Of course, virtually everything is findable on the web anymore. Part of the trick is flexing the thinking to come up with search terms that find what you seek.

Here's a 214 year history.

I've seen presentations take it back 5-700 years by replacing the tracking of government bonds with written records of market price trends for bond alternatives... precious metals and other standard commodity market trends (many of which are documented back up to 2,000 years,) shipping bonds, sovereign lending records, and the like. I haven't found these types of sources quite so easily web-searchable though.

If you're doing research for something on your desk, I'd consider poring over footnotes of Michael Lewis's works, and similar authors.
