Hi, beg4fun. Interesting userid. Do you really have to beg for fun?

I am new to this board and was wondering if anyone knows if there are any discount brokers that handle Roth IRA's?

Most all of them do. Check out the FAQ at the Discount Brokers board. The Motley Fool also has a useful Discount Broker center. Find it on the home page, I think.

Also, how long does it take to set up an account?

If you send them a check, maybe a week. If you transfer an IRA from some other source, maybe a month. Seems way too long, but that's the way it is.

Some people feel (and I hope they are right!), that the market will drop because of Y2K. Would it be smart to wait until after Jan.1 to do this?

If I knew the answer, I'd tell you. I've been holding back from making new investments for several months. Don't know if I'm being Foolish, or just foolish.

Thanks, Steve

You're welcome!
