Just out of curiosity have you ever looked at what the currency conversion rate was at IB after backing out the commission? I have no idea whether the conversion is fair or not, but I'd be interested in hearing.

In Japan companies set the lot size requirements for their shares, so you'll often find 100 or 1000 share lot requirements. It's a bit odd, because you never see companies here discussing their lot size requirement, but you'll see most Japanese companies address it in their quarterly updates. Generally with a comment on how they're considering lowering the lot size to facilitate purchases by individual investors.
