Hi Dave!Isn't it amazing that despite the top tax rates changing over time, the effective tax rate ( what people pay after all deductions, etc ) hasn't varied that much in the last 30+ years? http://www.taxpolicycenter.org/taxfacts/displayafact.cfm?Doc...For me at least, what this says is that what counts is NOT what the top rate is, but rather, how much of one's income is actually paid in taxes, after deductions, AMT, ad nauseum. ;-)Cheers!MurphHome Fool
