Hi galeno,

Returning to work is my WORSE nightmare. Any other early retirees share my adversion to work? I think intercst does.

I find your views regarding retirement very interesting. I'm always interested in reading how you are doing in your retired life.

My husband and I (when we got together) decided we didn't believe in retirement and we look at our future in 2 year increments with (of course) planning for the elderly years (however and whatever that entails). So, we basically get a 1 - 2 year consultanting contract, then take 1 to 2 years off. We love to travel and this has allowed us to take advantage of wonderful opportunities that might not ever come our way. This last time it was a 5 year stint we didn't work. We enjoy our profession, and are fortunate to have to the ability to choose them under our terms. All things to the extreme become trying. I think the best way I can put this is, after spending 9 months in Kauai, while walking down the beach one day my husband turned to me and said 'Even paradise gets boring after a while'.

Another point of view,

Helen
