Hi goody (Mark) --

Though I'm a relative newbie on this board, I DO have permission from ("hall-monitor") Rebecca to jump in. This looks like a good time!

(This is a repeat of my post of Monday '11/5' from the Living Below Your Means Board):

"Proud to say that AFTER 30 YEARS as a regular cig/cigar/pipe smoker, I quit COLD TURKEY (sometimes I don't believe it either)in January of 1974 (27 years, 10 months ago); I stopped calculating savings some time ago, but it does add up to a few bucks".

"Quitting DID help! We know it can be done, don't we? I occasionally dream of smoking, but after all these years the desire is ABSOLUTELY GONE!!"

Mark, believe one who has a few years on you (hate to admit, I'm older than literally EVERYONE AROUND HERE)when I say -- "IT CAN BE DONE".

(who celebrated 56th Anniversary of his Army Air Corps discharge on 11/5).
