Hi John,

Sorry to hear of your daughters condition and I hope there are some 
solutions for you and her.
Our American based Scientists are probably throwing up z?s right now so I 
can only offer some links for you to at least read until they awake and 
offer more pertinent advice.

Firstly there is the American Diabetes Association
You will need to register but it is free:

Then from a general search on Google we have the following:

Type I Diabetes:
Hashimoto's thyroiditis
 juvenile rheumatoid arthritis

To search for Clinical Trials go here:

Type in type 1 diabetes and you get this where there are 8 trials 
recruiting according to the web site, although they may not be applicable 
to your daughters case.

Hope that at least starts you on a fruitful journey.
