Hi Kahuna - welcome to the board. I've heard from long-time traders like Tom Sosnoff that the profits used to come much easier back in the old days when bid/ask spreads were much wider and there was less to no computerized trading. Market makers and specialists could make a killing. Not so much anymore, although I'm convinced that good traders can make lots of money. Unlike me.
