Hi Liz. Should you want to look into an annuity, do so very carefully and with only a small part of your funds. Annuities are expensively full of fees.

I use Fidelity and am very pleased with the customer service (although they too try to sell you annuities LOL). I moved my inherited 401K which was with Fidelity through Shell Oil into an IRA in my name with Fidelity. I also use the services of a financial manager who will negotiate his fee and who invests very conservatively. I like Fidelity because you can invest in any kind of security, not only mutual funds. I have a very diversified portfolio, which is important.

I hope all goes well for you and your family.
