Hi Mike,My wife and I are looking to buy our first house around February of 2003, and I was wondering how far ahead I should be looking to pre-qualify for a mortgage, and if anyone knows a good mortgage lender for Southern New Jersey. You are way, WAY ahead of the game here. I recommend you take the time now to start sniffing around to find a loan officer you can trust & feel comfortable with. Spend as much time as you can stand surfing the archives of these boards and you will be well-armed.With more knowledge as a Fool, and the market access you'll get from a great loan officer, you'll do far better than any other option. Also, does anyone know how good internet lenders are? Ie... lending tree, etc. Thanks for the help, I look forward to hearing from you all.Lot's of nightmare stories in the past about lending tree... but I've never used them so I can't speak 1st hand. I do know I get a lot of refi clients burned from their internet experiences... but there's Fools her that LOVE the internet lenders.Guess I'm not much help there... but then I'mDave DonhoffFoolish Mortgage Broker
