Hi Saml, you wrote:
Lots of luck with your insurance problem.

I and my spouse spent 15 plus years WITHOUT health insurance because of similar situation. Could not buy private insurance period.

We were lucky. Didn't have any major health problems, then Medicare came to the rescue, thank God!

Is there a way around the problem? I don't think so, if there was, I couldn't find one.

Hope you have better luck than I did. Saml.

My situation isn't as bad. Blue Shield covered my wife, but rejected me. I'm currently on COBRA until Dec, 2001, and then have the option of HIPP (they're required to cover you if you had insurance for 18 months without a break), but it isn't cheap. The price varies wildly by insurance carrier, too. I have quotes for individual coverage ranging from $500 to $1100. Gotta keep looking, I guess.
This is an industry that needs SERIOUS reform.
