I use Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil in my cars, it seems to quiet them down and gives a nice smooth ride. With 8 liter oil pans in both cars (8.5 quarts) it does get expensive though.

Yesterday the coldest it got here was 23.9f, and the warmest was 26.96f. Right now it is 28.4f. The wind chill makes it feel like 17.6f and all thought the car will not get that cold it does make it cool down faster. Once winter hits here and it starts getting down to -22f on a daily bases and it starts hitting -31 to -40 that's when we have to start plugging cars in for sure.

I do let my car warm up a bit before driving it. The heated windshield helps defrost the front window quickly.
