Hitler was an atheist. This is demonstrably true in Table Talks. Yes, many of the churches were coopted at the time, though some like Bonhoeffer formed a confessing church in opposition. And I decry that.I'm still waiting for you to condemn atheist ethnocides by Hitler and Stalin.While it is not quite clear (to me, haven't researched this in-Depth) what Hitler was, it is very clear that the Nationalsozialismus was NOT an atheist ideology, indeed more the opposite.It made heavy use of the idea that the Germans were somehow chosen by God, and of germanic pagan mysticism.Religiosity/Mysticism was a central part of the justification of nationalsocialist concepts, which is very different from the relationship of communism and atheism.Communism was also atheist but it did not draw its justification from atheism. Atheism was a subset of communist ideology. It could just as easily have been neutral towards religion, or embraced it, without really having to change anything.
