Hmm...I just finished mine up using Turbo Tax and am getting an $1133.00 refund and do not recall any offers to get a loan...

Electronic Refund Advance is only available to individuals who e-file. If you did not (or could not) e-file, this would explain why you didn't see the messages.

FWIW I use Kiplinger TaxCut Deluxe... The only mention of ERA I saw was when it asked how I wanted to file... my choices were e-file with ERA, e-file with direct deposit, e-file with check refund, paper return with direct deposit, an paper return with check refund. The ERA option included a prominint disclosure that this was a loan, and that a fee was charged for the service.
