Hi all:

I apologize for the very basic question and also for my greed !

Is money spent to improve one's house deductible ? Money spent on landscaping, storm door, garage door openers etc !

Thanks in advance.

No, but keep records of improvements (e.g. the garage door opener) as opposed to routine maintenance (e.g. painting). You'll probably never care, but someday your basis in the home may be important, for example if you convert it to a rental. If that day comes, you'll have the records you need.
