Just saw some interesting sales data today, thought I would share...

Japan's Honda February global output up 10.2 percent at 332,563 vehicles

The Honda Fit was the industry's best-selling car among new vehicle registrations for the month of February 2008, with sales of 15,980 units.

This is the 31st consecutive month of increased global sales (since August 2005), setting an all-time record for the month of February.

I see Honda Fits everywhere... looks like its price point could maybe make it the next Civic? Because Civics are getting pretty pricey at 20-24k... but, I just wonder about quality and safety of the Fit. Most of buyers of the Civic are paying for the long lifetime of 150-200k miles.

As an American I hope American makers can catch up but, they always seem to be way behind the trend. The Ford Fiesta is a very popular, small efficient car in Europe. Yet, they don't sell any here in America to compete with Honda and Toyota... it's puzzling.

I've seen a lot of ads for the Honda Fuel Cell car in google and gmail recently. Here's the link: http://world.honda.com/FuelCell/
