Honeydipper, Iwas was involed in the initial public offering of Franklin Resources in 1973. My firm was co-underwriter. It initially sold at 5.00 per share and 100,000 share offering. I am a personal friend of the Chairmans brother and if you look at the financials and at the shares outstanding now it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that the company has made many millionaires. The stock split 2 for 1 in Feb 98
at 90.00 per share. It's now 56.50. This company has and will continue to out perform every other fund management company I can think of. This is a deffinate buy and hold for your retirement. 15 years ago I bought 2,000 shares. You do the math. Good Luck

ps: don't forget to include the 7 splits.
