Hope it all goes well... this is a fascinating thread. My way way way conservative side gets nervous to think of linking my checking account to an internet bank... like someday I'll see I have no money in there. I know that's being paranoid, but the temptation to earn 5% really makes me want to look at them; just nervous I guess. Good idea to go slowly with a small amount, Jim.

What does linking your account really mean? Should I be so worried?

Also, what has been the rate history in EmigrantDirect? I see they just went up to 5% but how low might we see (what's it tied to)?
