We put a timer on our hot water heater (electric) a couple of months ago. We keep reducing the amount of time it's on. Know everyone's needs are different but we're finding 4 hrs a day (2 in the am & 2 pm) more than what we need. We use it numerous times during the day and night. Bottom line: surprised how long the water stays hot after it goes off.

Read where you can save $6 a person per month by reducing the time the water heater is on.
