How about a pair of high-topped shoes that will support your ankle?

I would not say this is a good choice - Based purely on anecdata that I recall from high school, the kids i knew who wore hightops *all the time* ended up with ankle injuries as soon as they switched to regular shoes, since the high tops did not require their ankles to be strong, they just supprted them.

For LQ and hh - the desire is to strengthen and repair - not just shore up.
