Okay, I know I will get flamed for even asking this question on this board. Neither DH nor I have ever done a cash advance and have no intention of doing one.

DD is off to England and has an ATM card to get cash.

I am thinking in an emergency she might need more cash than is in her account and might possibly need to do a cash advance. We are not anticipating this. She is an authorized user on one of our cards from the credit union that has no balance on it. When the trip is over, we get the card back. Her lodging, tuition and transportation over have been paid for so mostly she needs grocery money (she has a place to cook), a pass for the underground, and spending money for admissions.
Do you just put the credit card into an ATM and punch in the pin for a cash advance? I really have no clue and have only used the ATMs with our credit union with my ATM card. I feel so behind the times......
