How exactly has the realtor's job changed to justify a 45% fee increase in 6 years?

Based on this thinking, nobody should ever receive a pay raise for anything other than a promotion...if your job does not change, why should you get a pay increase?

We live in a capitalist society. The fees charged can be negotiated. If the market as a whole thinks 6% is too much, the fee will fall.

If you don't like the fee, vote with your wallet and go to a broker that charges a lower fee. The upside is you will save money...the downside is that the service you receive might not be as good and it might take longer to sell your home. You get to decide what you want.
