Be careful about this: I was a former, highly paid, Delta Airlines
contractor.

(I like competition).

I will make this brief, and simple: make it fun to fly.
Go back to your roots. I don't mean "a better smile on
the stewardess" or other nutty stuff from the sixties.

1.
Give us all tickets on a low earth orbit shuttle to fly to India.
If tito would pay 20 million bucks a ticket to get to a
mid range earth orbit, you can expect a goodly sum to
go low.

2.
Second, put up supersonic routes with a plane that can
fly subsonic until its over water. The HSCT is a good example:
it can seat hundreds and hundreds and it has good characteristics.
For example, its flight altitude is so high that like the SST
its maintenance costs are low.

3.
Strengthen your cockpit doors, like El Alal. And let the Fed come
in and do airport security.

4.
Offer everyone the chance to fly cheap this Thanksgiving.
Try this: take Delta or any other Airlines Frequent flyers -
+through the holiday season+. Watch how many people lose their
fear of flying!! They will all flock to you. You can probably
cash in the miles somehow, at least part of them.. but the
+traffic+ will definitely increase immensely. And that will
go a long way to proving your idea that UAL is still an operable
business. If they're out there, and they want to fly. You need to find them.

Apart from a good prayer, thats about it.
Best to you.
