How long have I had this Traeger Little tex...? 6 or 7 years? I've replaced the firepot once, the hot stick twice. Stuff rusts near the beach. That's life at the beach.

Not too bad. Didn't you get the Traeger for free because someone was throwing it out?

That's the one.

09-03-09 "In this throw away fantasy land, my nephew just found a pellet feeding Traeger that he says looks like new, by the dumpster of his townhome community.

He knows I like to smoke stuff, so it arrives tomorrow to my backyard.

This ought to be interesting...

A like new Traeger???? Could it be true?

I imagine it was a gift from a parent to a young&dumb couple. Hubby probably fired it up once on his leeward balcony and wifey flipped out when smoke filled the place.

------------------Memory Lane----------------

First mention of Traeger on this board, March 2001, T.Lizard.
Took delivery on 2 Q's from Traeger in Mt. Angel. The Traeger units are pellet smokers, natural pressed wood, no additives, less mess. I got the hickory. (1 ton)...Joe Traeger, owner, is a marvelous guy... took me to lunch at their restaurant "Mt. Angel Brewing Co."

Then in '04 there was a whole lot of tire kicking, moaning and b!tching and sour graping mainly about the price.

Chez: "Yo podnah, I ain't no pellethaid ... and I wasn't endorsing dem pellet pooper cookers. You exactly right about dem augers gittin' plugged up ... not to mention that it's harder'n h3ll to find local pellet retailers. What I said was: Charles seems like he might be a good candidate to own one. Me, I'm an ol' stickburner ~ always will be."..........

..and ... Leana ! still hangin!

Leana: "Rather than spending all that money on a Traeger, why not buy two (or five or six ) Weber kettles? Or a couple of Weber kettles and a Weber smoker?"

...and now it's in all the costco's and infomercialling, made in china.... a 20 year overnight success.
