I'm not up in Alaska at the moment, but my daughter is. She's attending UAF. I'm working on getting back to Fairbanks, but for now I'm still here in Germany.

Yes, I miss the white flocked branches, but not the icy patches on the sidewalks.

It was cold there last weekend with temps near -35. I talked with her today and it was near 25 and she was running around in jeans and a t-shirt. I'd say she's usered to the weather there. :-)

Best college story of the week: someone I know at school in British Columbia has an extended winter break (the campus is being used by the Winter Olympics) -- she's going to do an internship, learning to make goat cheese!
