How many times have you gone into the doctor and told them what you needed? I have a couple of chronic conditions. They're fairly minor; but they need prescription medications. When I visit the doctor for these things, I usually have to wait 1-2 hours, then I spend about 5 minutes chatting with her about life and family. Then I ask for the prescriptions, wait for her to write them and leave.

Back when I had the same doctor long enough to have a relationship with him, I used to be able to call up and explain what I needed (when I was certain) and he would write me a prescription without seeing me. Maybe your doctor would do this for you?
