How responsible are your children? Could you make them the beneficiaries with the understanding that it is for Grandma's care?

My concern is that your mother may not be in shape to handle her own finances soon. If you can instruct the next generation on how to care for her, you might be setting up a better long-term solution.

My kids are around 30 and would walk on hot coals for their grandmother.
