I realize politics are not all that welcome on this board, but I want to talk about Huckabee because he seems different than most of the Christian Republican politicians we've had lately. Don't get me wrong--I'm all in favor of Obama at this point. But perhaps Huckabee's success is a sign of something different brewing in the GOP.I find myself liking the guy more every time I hear him talk. He is not the religious rightie I expected at all. . .says he would appoint atheists if they were best for the job, talks about shunning the politics of hate, has compassion for children of illegal immigrants, refuses to bow to the altar of Wall Street. . .Of course he follows the party line on stuff like abortion and gay marriage. And his foreign policy knowledge is laughable. I probably wouldn't vote for him in a general election because I don't think he is ready to be president. Still, I might encourage my Repub DH to vote for him in the primary, just to give the Republican party a wake-up call that Americans are ready for something different. Thoughts?Andrea
