I had my 9 year check up last week for my eye cancer. I had a CT that showed my liver is stable, but showed the pesky node in my back continues to enlarge very slowly. So, I now will need a PET in the next month or so. I also saw the eye muscle specialist to see if anything can be done about my double vision which is caused from my inital treatment for eye cancer. This specialist was a hoot! I had a 3 hour appointment with him and his staff. The outcome? The double vision can not be corrected. So, I ordered a blank lens for my glasses yesterday to elimiate what little vision I have left in my treated eye (VERY little vision, just enough now to make eveything double). I also met with my ocular oncologist. He did ask me if I just wanted to have the eye removed. He has never offered me this option before. It is something I will consider. All of these tests are done a distance from my hometown. I have identified a local oncologist (liver specialist) who will order the PET locally. She may also add a lymphoma oncologist to the never ending list of doctors.
