I agree that you should be diversifying. Ebay is a good company and i also hold it in my regular and ira accounts (though only worth a few thousand $$).

I would not go with Edward Jones. I would prefer to go for low cost index funds.You can diversify by going for
- Total stock market index fund
- Total bond market index fund
- intermediate term bond fund
- Inflation index bond fund
- International index fund

You can purchase IBonds, EE Bonds (though its only 30k per year).

Savings account / Money mkt / CDs pay a decent return nowadays. You could get into then for current income as well.
