I agree. The Jeep is not a worthwhile purchase. IMO it is a mediocre vehicles at best.

Test reports and reliability surveys agree Jeeps are not great, but Jeep is a cult thing.

Besides the Jeep brand, Great Wall appears to be in dire need of technical assistance.

From the Wiki link:

Currently, component design may rely heavily on foreign technical assistance, and some hard-to-source parts may be provisioned from overseas;[citation needed] the company states it has cooperative agreements with companies such as Autoliv, Delphi Automotive, BorgWarner, Robert Bosch GmbH, the German company Brose, Ricardo plc, TRW Automotive, and Valeo in regards to specific parts such as engines, transmissions, door locks, and airbags, etc.[30] As of 2009, some models used Mitsubishi engines and Siemens electronic systems—both sourced in China.[43]

Designing a vehicle is art as well as science. How to design a vehicle with a reasonably smooth ride that still handles well. How to design a seat so it's comfortable for hours. How to design a vehicle to do well in US and European crash tests. FCA US engineering has decades of experience in all those areas of SUV design. Great Wall didn't start doing any of it's own engineering until 1998. They did not have a real R&D center until 2013.
